Well, we survived our first family RV trip. Everyone was able to come, except for Sissy Lissy who had summer school, and Lauren brought a friend, which made seven total. We stayed in three different campgrounds, our first stop being Emma Woods in Ventura, then on to Lopez Lake, then after a tour of Hearst Castle, we took highway 1 (an adventure in itself!) to Pacifica, which is just south of San Francisco. We spent our last full day in the city, taking public transportation to Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square. I think we managed fairly well considering the small space we inhabited for seven nights and eight days, and Mike managed to not put a single scratch on the RV--except for when we were returning it to my parents' house and Mike tried to back it in to their driveway...
Before the trip, I was nervous about Jubilee--mostly about whether or not she would be able to sleep at night and take naps, but it all worked out. Jubi and I slept in the garage part of the RV, and we kept her pack-n-play in there so she could take naps. She was pretty consistent, naking a 1-3 hour nap in the morning and another 1-3 hour nap in the afternoon. She didn't go to sleep until about eight each night, which is a little late for her, but she only woke up once each night, so that was nice, although I'm not sure how much everyone else sleeping in the RV liked it. She woke up each day between 6:30 - 7:00 with her delightful screaming and Jed kept her entertained most mornings until it was time for her morning nap. Mike and I both agreed that she was the perfect child on the trip.
